Waiting for the Great Leap Foward

There's nothing worse for a fanzine than a dull end to the season with no real stories or drama for us to talk about - but then we're a Motherwell fanzine, so there's no problems there then eh!

With the proverbial hitting the fan just before the printing deadline, this issue had to be quickly updated into a 'Well Worth Saving edition, and it's massive Well done to all the contributors who were able to get their stuff in on such short notice to make us a topical and up-to-date as possible. Seven of the guys give you their feelings on 'Black Wednesday' as written in the immediate aftermath of the announcements.

Obviously this subject takes up a big chunk of the fourty-eight pages on offer this time round but mixed in with them are other subjects such as a review of the S.P.L. season that was from Andy Paterson, both a look over the performances of our last five goalies and recollections of the 'Well's centre-halfs in the Premier League by Geoff Baby, Graham Barnstaple's and Ricky Mullen's visits to 'Offside' and 'Do I Not Know That', John Creighton literally taking a different view on football Fir Park-style along with new contributor Eddie Ferguson's comments on M.F.C. pre-administration.

It's also time for you to let us know your thoughts on the season just finishing in the 2002 G.L.F. Readers Poll - get your responses into us over the summer and we'll have the results for you in the first issue of next season.

Whilst I'm sure that all roads leading to Fir Park will be extra busy as we all continue to get behind the brilliant 'Well Worth Saving campaign on Sunday, keep a look-out for your trusty G.L.F. sellers to ensure you get your copy. See you there!
