Going To Ibrox

Why I hate going to Ibrox.......

(but will keep going back for more)

After our recent 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Huns I was thinking why do I keep going back for more of this purgatory. This time I consoled myself that it was the only game I would see in the space of six weeks due to work commitments. But the reasons I hate going are........

1. The tickets cost 17 pounds, 4 or 5 pounds more than anywhere else we go, to sit in an obscure corner of the Broomloan Stand.

1. The traffic on the way there is a nightmare, when a 20 minute journey is turned into one that can take 45 minutes to an hour. Why would anybody want to do this every second week, or so!

1. You can't get parked anywhere near the ground

1. Stewards always take the easy option. There is always "banter" between both sets of fans, but if it looks like boiling over take on the small group not the large one. You always get the impression that the 49000 Rangers supporters are Saints and the 800 visitors are demons from another planet.

1. You know that the officials will give you nothing, look at Mr. Rowbotham's performance a few weeks ago. He gave the obligatory penalties to Rangers, booked three Well players, but let Amoruso away with a judo throw on Nicholas, a Moore tackle from behind on McMillan etc etc.

1. You have to put up with the morons in the Stands beside you that have no sense of humour at all.

You definitely get the impression that Murray only puts up with away fans under sufferance. He is clearly trying to ensure that the experience becomes so unpleasant that we will not returns and he can fill the ground with 50000 huns. Personally I am not prepared to let him do this, as I want to see my team whenever I can, and will not let this happen.

I think we all need to see it this way and not give into the pressure and intimidation from this mob and continue to go and give our team whatever backing we can. Remember that the high of winning there when it comes is always worth savouring. This is probably the biggest reason I keep going back as I am always frightened that I will miss after experiencing the high on three or four occasions
