Alan Easton was welcomed back to the squad after impressing in his second debut against Sparta Jag last season. Since then he has been plagued by injury so Fraser was pleased to see him come through the match unscathed.
During the opening exchanges FPC had the better of the possession but the home team defended well and limited Fraser’s troops to long-range efforts, with the manager himself dragging a shot wide before Davie Tonner failed to convert a close range drive.
Just before the interval, the home side were awarded a penalty when Ross Cunningham was adjudged to have tumbled a striker in the box, much to the disbelief of everyone but the man with the whistle. Justice was done as the same striker blasted over the bar with Farmer rooted to his line.
Into the second half and FPC really began to take control. It wasn’t long before they took the lead. A scramble in the home penalty area led to Davie Tonner bundling the ball over the line for his first goal in an FPC shirt. Given his overall play in his first three games, there’s little doubt that it won’t be his last.
Tonner was again involved moments later when he set Lynas free with a magnificent through ball for the tiny hit man to lift the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper. Lynas doubled his tally with twenty minutes still to play as he used his pace to get past his man before coolly slotting into the corner of the net.

The lads will be hoping for a repeat of last week’s triumph on the coast as they look to continue their impressive start to the season.
