FPC took the field with the 3-4-3 formation being played. Stand in goalkeeper Farmer who has been impressive in his past appearances.
FirParkCorner made the early break through when Dave H used his pace to get past a couple of defenders and with a bit of help from the GK his shot hit the back of the net. A strange goal but FPC were happy to accept it. Some solid work from the FPC defence prevented the home team from drawing level.
FirParkCorner seemed to get most of there pressure down the wings. Dave H and Marshall caused the problems down the lines. Faddy_is_the_Daddy had to fill in as referee for the first half and did a good job but as with every other referee got the odd comment from players. FPC were under a lot of pressure and some good saves from Farmer (and a dodgy offside decision given in FPC’s favour) kept the game in FirParkCorner’s favour into the interval.
FirParkCorner seemed to get more space in the middle of the park but the movement from the forwards wasn’t up to scratch. The odd chance arrived for FPC with the play coming down the wings. Kilmarnock started to dominate and were a lot stronger and some magnificent saves from Farmer and some equally impressive defending kept the Killie team out. A couple of changes for FPC with John D and Faddy_is_the_Daddy going upfront for Mitch and Scott M seemed strange but both put in great performances (with Faddy_is_the_Daddy later claiming he was getting a nose bleed being so far up the park). John D was rewarded with a goal. The ball deflecting off John D and hitting the back of the net. The only thing that was more impressive than the gaol was his celebration which consisted of shouting “W*****s” to whoever was listening.
More impressive work from Farmer, which earned him the Man of the Match award, was the save that even Barthez would have been proud of. The Kilmarnock team seemed amazed that they could find the net. They eventually scored with a well-worked goal that Farmer could not do much about.
