Dave Hendry set the ball rolling with a well-placed curling effort into the postage stamp corner in the opening ten minutes. The lead was doubled shortly afterwards, with Hendry again in the middle of the action. He sent a ball floating into the box, only for a defender to collide with his own goalkeeper to leave older brother John Hendry free to nod the ball home for his third goal in two games.

Captain Gavin Hepworth also kept up his recent scoring form with the goal of the game, sending a thunderous volley into the roof of the net to put the Motherwell boys three up.

The home side did pull one back before half time, with Graeme Farmer charging out of his goal only to see the ball neatly knocked past him and agonisingly roll over the line, despite best efforts of Hepworth and Ross Mitchell.

As the second half got underway, it quickly became obvious that the Ayr goal would be nothing more than a consolation as Lynas scored a quick-fire double within minutes of being introduced into the action. This was followed with a neat finish by Cunningham to end the match as a contest.

Ayr did grab another goal with a back post header, but this merely served to kick-start the Corner back to life with Lynas showing great legs to grab another double after beating the offside trap on both occasions to slot past the helpless goalkeeper.

In the dying seconds, Ross Clark rounded up the scoring with a rare goal, guiding home a neat finish from close range after some good work from Lynas.

Another high-scoring victory has instilled a great deal of confidence in the camp ahead of Friday's trip to Leeds for the WorldNET tournament. It seems that several of the teams 'big' players are hitting form at the right time, so does this mean that the time for major silverwear is finally upon us?

Team: Farmer, Mitchell, Hepworth, Ramage, Speedie, Cunningham, O'Neill, Galloway, Clark, J.Hendry, D.Hendry
