FPC FC made a solid start but weren’t helped when Junior went off injured. The defence was still attempting to reorganise when Inter Ma Lamb took the lead.
It wasn’t long before the team were level though. Del and Jammy flicked on a shy and Moonie was free at the back post to score. The same move almost brought another goal moments later but the ball was scrambled clear.
Inter managed to break the FPC offside trap and a nice finish ensured they reached the break 2-1 up.
Great work from the Inter number nine (playing left back) created a chance at the start of the second half that was thumped in off the post to give them a two goal lead. FPC were not dead and buried though and a run and pass from Dave H sent Moonie clear to score his second of the game.
FPC missed a great chance to equalise when John’s shot was saved and were made to pay the penalty. Aberdeen scored another two goals and missed a couple of absolute sitters as FPC tired – perhaps the activities of the night before were catching up.
The referee ended the match and Inter deserved their win. After that, it was off to the pub to prepare for the main event, which thankfully ended in a better result for the visitors!
