Alan Easton, David Wyper, John Barclay, David Tonner and Graeme Ramage were the notable absentees, so the lads will be delighted to have recorded such a fine result under difficult circumstances. The home side shot themselves in the foot early on, with both central defenders scoring an own goal apiece in the opening ten minutes. On both occasions, Barry Lynas did well to get to the bye-line and his teasing crosses forced the errors.

Five minutes into the second half, the home side were offered a lifeline when some slack defending in the Corner rearguard allowed a forward to hammer past Farmer. However, the hope was soon to fade as Barry Lynas played a perfectly weighted pass over the top of the defence for his prolific younger brother to delightfully lob over the advancing goalkeeper.
Darryn Alexander had another busy day in midfield and his efforts were rewarded with the fifth goal of the match. Lynas, looking for his third hat-trick of the season, saw his effort blocked but Alexander was there to drill home to seal the victory.
