The frustration of the away side was clear when a spell of handbags erupted in the middle of the park midway through the first half. However, they soon got themselves back level when a moment of hesitation in the home defence led to a good finish high into the net just before the interval.
Midway through the second half, FPC regained their lead. Peter Tait, who was making his league debut for the 'Corner, bulletted a header home from an excellent cross by Michael Anderson. The goal capped off an excellent performance from the young centre back.
The victory was sealed with fifteen minutes still on the clock when substitute Gerard Maguire latched on to a square ball from Joe Lynas and deftly chipped the ball over the advancing goalkeeper into the net.
The victory ends a difficult month for the 'Corner and keeps the championship dream alive, with next week's trip to table-topping Stirling a real six-pointer.
