Ramsden and Carswell were introduced in place of the suspended Hutchinson and the injured Humphrey and we faced the beach end in the first half.
It was the third draw between the teams in Aberdeen this season but the earlier games produced eight goals. Aberdeen had far better chances and they’ll feel that the game was a loss of two points. They had far more pressure in each half and we have Randolph’s quick reactions to thank as he denied a few great chances for the home side.
Our best hope in the first half came from a Hateley free kick on the half hour when his 25 yard effort was comfortably saved. The best chance of the match followed a series of corners from Aberdeen. They forced some desperate defending and had a few scrimmages in our six yard box when we broke free down the left wing. Ojamaa produced a fine pass into the centre where Law collected at the edge of the box. The midfielder was in the clear with only Langfield between him and a winning goal but he tried to go wide and finished with a shot into the keeper’s body.
We had a shout for a penalty inside the last five minutes when Francis-Angol’s run in on goal was brought to an abrupt halt but the claim was denied.
One bright note was the short appearance of Saunders in first team action for the added minutes.
Still, a point away from home is always welcome and this one keeps us clear in second place. We have a Friday night game at Fir Park next when we face Hibs.
