Moving on up!

Murphy and Sutton started the game as Clarkson and Malcolm and moved to the bench. Jamie opened the scoring in ten minutes when the Falkirk defence failed to cope with a lofted cross from Quinn. He kept his cool and dispatched the ball to the keeper's right corner.

We held the lead for the only for the next ten minutes. A flicked header exposed our square defensive line and Lovell was presented with a chance which he took well.

Neither team had time to come to terms with the Falkirk goal before Olejnik presented Porter with an easy chance when he released the ball as he slid over the eighteen yard line. His mistake presented our number nine with an open goal and he took the chance to open his account for the season.


We played out the remaining twenty minutes to the break in control The passing game had returned and we looked good. Murphy waas a constant threat on the right wing and Lasley seemed to be commanding the middle of the park. We almost scored in the last minute but porter's header was cleared on the line by Bullen.


Falkirk
's half time talk had the better effect and the visitors looked more determined in the opening exchanges after the restart. Their reward duly came when Barret turned and buried his shot from fifteen yards.

Sutton maintained his goal scoring form before the hour mark when he headed McGarry's cross high into the net in front of the Cooper Stand.

No danger from this effort


The win moves up the table and leaves us only three points for third place. An international weekend lies ahead and the players can enjoy a few days off before they start to concentrate on the next game - Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
