Motherwell 0 Hibs and O'Reilly 4

Let's get Stevie O'Reilly's woeful performance out of the way first.  He and his assistant failed to award us a goal when Hammell's header crossed the line four minutes after Hibs took the lead.   It was a blunder that was seen by all who watched on ESPN.  In the second half he awarded Hibs two penalties.  For first he adjudged that Randolph fouled Griffiths and the second was for a Hammell challenge on Wotherspoon which seems to have been outside the box.  The referee had a horror show and when he left the field with 80 minutes gone to be replaced by Iain Brines many though he would be away home to avoid the barrage of criticism that will surely follow.

However he was not the only culprit.  Higdon had two glaring misses.  In the first half Ojamaa set him up with the simplest of chances from about 8 yards and the ball flew high into the South Stand.  In the second half his penalty attempt was still rising as it entered the Cooper Stand.  McHugh replaced the luckless striker for the last 15 minutes.

Kerr partnered Ramsden in the centre of defence and had a game he'll want to forget.  His poor positioning enabled Cairney to turn and supply Wotherspoon for a 22 yard effort that beat Randolph for the opener.  Griffiths caused him problems all evening long.

Motherwell had plenty possession and for long spells we looked like the better team.  We passed well up to the last third but lacked the final touch (with one exception!).   There were only a few dozen fans left in the East Stand as the final whistle belw.

That's four consecutive losses and no goals scored.  Not good.
