I have heard all the rubbish about Celtic having a Champions League hangover and quite honestly I don't care. We gave a good account of ourselves and that is all any of us really wanted. Yes it would have been fantastic to take something from the game but it was more important to show that our season is back on track and that the team has developed a backbone.
On the down side I think Meldrum had a poor game and was definitely partly to blame for the first goal. Why he ran out to the edge of the area I'll never know, but I think he should keep on running and let Smith back in between the sticks as he is the far superior keeper. I'm not sure whether Craigan was unlucky or just stupid with the og, but he has been excellent for us in the last few games so I think I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
It was great to see Skippy scoring again and great to see him topping the scoring charts in the SPL. The team is starting to look pretty good going forward but we need others to start taking their chances. McGarry had a glaring miss which could have changed the game on Saturday and Elliot still doesn't look like a goal scorer. To have a good season you need a striker to notch you 15 - 20 goals and hopefully McDonald is well on his way to doing this.
So bring on Ibrox on Saturday, a place where our record is worse than Lee Miller's scoring ratio since he left the maroon part of
