We have comfortably stayed up after a disastrous start to the season and have uncovered a couple of decent players. Mark Reynolds looks to be the find of the season and it was a travesty that he was not nominated for the young player of the year award (he's a lot better than Pearson ever was). Vadocz and McCormack look promising and having Keith Lasley back with a full pre-season behind him will be like having a new player.
However, drastic surgery is needed in other areas of the team if we want to avoid a relegation dogfight next season. Our keeper and defence are fine and with
Let's just wave goodbye to Brian Kerr and Kevin McBride. Kerr has the potential to be good but he thinks he is a better player than he actually is and is often half hearted. McBride is not good enough for the SPL, he is at the age where he is not going to improve so I say get rid as soon as possible and give others such as Smith a chance.
So, in midfield we need competition for Lasley and Vadockz and pace added to the wings. As I have said before I think Murphy is more a left midfielder than a left back and I would play him wide with Reynolds behind. On the right I think Smith deserves a chance, but I still think we need to invest in cover there. So three midfielders in please Maurice, preferably ones with skill and pace!
Up front we have nobody and have to sign two if not three strikers or we simply won't get enough goals. Clarkson tries but cannot score, Keegan is a pizza maker, and McCormack is still untested. I think MM should go for Craig Dargo, John Sutton and Graham Dorrans from
