Mike's Moan: Get The Passports Looked Out ???

Last updated : 09 February 2007 By Mike

However, it is back to league business this week and hopefully three points for us. We have a great record against Falkirk recently, I don't see any reason why this is about to change. The Bairns are above us in the league, but they are not a good team and without Stokes their goal threat is almost none existent. They have Gow up front, why Rangers signed him ill never know but he scores very few goals although can be useful outside the box. There only other good player is Latapy, but he is fading fast this season and hopefully we can keep him quiet. (Let Vadocz at him!)

Saying all this though, I am hoping Malpas makes a couple of changes for the weekend. I think he should drop Clarkson basically because he has been rubbish lately and his first touch against Morton was worse than Andy Roddie's after a night out on the piss. I would give Keegan a go up front, the big Irishman actually looked alright when he came on last Saturday and did more in 15 minutes than Clarky did in the whole game.

I would also drop under 21 star Fitz, the Sun's man of the match for the Morton game, as I feel we could get overrun in the centre of midfield with him in there. I know others disagree but I think he looks scared, he can spread the ball nicely, but he rarely makes a forward pass and often looks to get rid of the ball far too quickly even when he is in space. The big Hungarian would give us more presence in the centre, and by all accounts he is a good passer and tackler.

I have to give Skippy a mention for Saturday's performance, he did not let any of the speculation get to him and played really well - I think we all have to admit that we are lucky still to have him as if he went our season would have been one hard slog. It is obvious that he is away in the summer, so MM needs to identify targets now. One that has caught my eye is Graham Dorrans of Livingston, he looked good when he came against Celtic and for the under 21's, and must be worth a punt if we can get him on the cheap.

One last thing, I have to say well done to Malpas for bringing a centre midfield player in before the end of the window, and bye-bye to Foran who was a great player for us - Cheers Richie!!!
