We really missed Leitch and Pearo for this game, as we needed someone in the middle of the park willing to get in and fight for the ball. Also I don’t think Adams should have been captain. I think it should have been Corrigan because he seems to play very well when he is captain.
Anyway, the game itself was very lively with Hearts starting well having a good couple of chances but it was ‘Well who scored first when McFadden played in a nice ball to big Dirk who’s left foot shot went straight into the top corner and the ‘Well fans went mental. 1-0.
Later in the first half ‘Well got a corner. Adams played it in, big Dirk again headed across the box and there was James to head home from six yards. Then Motherwell gave away a stupid goal to make it 2-1 with deVries scoring for the Jambos. Hugh Dallas blew for half time with the ‘Well fans happy with their team’s display.
The second half started and it didn’t look good for the ‘Well as Levin must have had a good chat with his players at the break. It wasn’t long into the second half when Hearts man Andy Kirk scored and the Hearts fans went mental. Soon Hearts scored again and then again, 4-2 Hearts. It was turning into a nightmare for all ‘Well fans. Myself and my pal left with five minutes to go as we couldn’t watch anymore. Another beating by the Jambos! The final whistle sounded, Motherwell 2 Hearts 4.
For this game I had predicted a 3-1 ‘Well win and yes, I noticed that we will never score 3 goals again this season unless big TB can get his act together. We need to stop trying to hold on to a goal advantage and even push forward for more goals.
Anyway next week we travel to Dunfermline and maybe this time we can pick up all three points even though we don’t usually do that when we play at East End Park. Hopefully we can avoid performances like last years.
Lastly let’s all hope that for next weeks game we have Pearo and Leitch back because today I think we really missed them. I think that if they are playing next week then we will have a good chance of Motherwell picking up all three points.
In my book the ratings of each Motherwell player against Hearts would have been :
Woods 8
Corrigan 6
Hammell 6
Lasley 7
Ramsey 6
Adams 6
Lehmann 7
McFadden 8
Sengewald 6
Partridge 6
Fagan 6
