A fresh start. John Boyle has decided to sell the club and also proposed to wipe out the debts the club has generated over the period of time he’s been in charge. This will give the club the opportunity to have a stable financial base when the club is sold in the very near future. Our side isn’t similar to Airdrie, Clydebank or Partick Thistle who have previously had troubled times in the financial side of the game. We are one of the biggest teams in the country and now we must fight to regain that status. Don’t look on to the 24th April as a day that the club hit an all time low, think of it as opportunity for the club to turn a page in its history.
Eric Black
Wasn’t ever the man for the job his inexperience showed. He’s lucky to have left with his reputation intact. He made some fine signings on the transfer market most of which we’ll have to lose at the end of the season. Eric had no money available to him. He maintained Billy Davies’s sides standards but unfortunately failed to turn things around. We all knew that he would need a pre season under his belt before we could judge him as a manager but I feel he’s left the club with his reputation intact and he’s very lucky to have that considering his poor record of results.
Welcome Terry Butcher
At this stage I’m not sure if Terry is to be our manager on a permanent basis. It’ll be interesting to see if the respect I’m sure the playing staff has got for Terry will help lead the club to success. The Killie and Dundee games should have given an indication that Terry has got what it takes and would be my choice for the job.
Holmsey
Good to see a wee rival from Dalziel becoming a columnist. He’s got a very good knowledge of the club and I’m sure he’ll soon overtake me as your favourite columnist!
As soon as progress is made and an owner is confirmed I’ll get typing. In the meantime thanks for taking the time to read my pieces over the course of the season it’s much appreciated.
