Motherwell 2-1 Celtic

How good must 'Well be now? After all we did beat "one of the top teams in Europe" with "the best fans in the world"!!! But what about these so-called "fans" who were chanting outside the ground during the minute’s silence? They must have known what was going on inside the ground yet the continued with their sectarian filth. What I would like to know is why these people were allowed in the ground? There must have been plenty of police there to deal with these idiots.

A well taken penalty!
Seriously though, it was a fantastic performance by the players, led by Faddy, Hammell and Pearo, and who can forget everyone's new favourite player, Shaun Fagan! People may say if Celtic had taken their chances then they would have won comfortably, but the fact is they didn't. Motherwell took theirs. 2-1. That will do for me!

We saw the debut of the big German defender, Daniel Sengewald. Personally, I thought he had a superb game alongside Partridge at the back. Yes, he lost Larsson a few times, but which SPL defender hasn't? I think now Butcher has a bit of a problem as he played Corrigan at right-back. He didn't play as well as he has done so far this season. That was until Butcher went to a back three and Corrigan reverted back to his old self. Also, I thought Stevie Hammell played a stormer at left-back. There are not many players who can say that they kept Didier Agathe quiet for 90 minutes. For the second half he played more like a left-winger than a left-back!

The fans have a new hero now, 17-year-old Shaun Fagan. What a time to get first goal for the club! It was a great cross by Hammell but what a diving header! 1-0! 'Well fans go absolutely crazy. I think it meant quite a bit to him, if the reaction is anything to go with! He must be up high in the list of youngest ever goal scorers for 'Well.

What about the man himself, James McFadden? That was possibly the best 90 minutes he has played in his life. He seemed to be everywhere. The pass to Hammell that set up the first goal was brilliant. It took out three Celtic players and even had the cheek to go through the Scotland captain's legs! Then, having missed his last two penalties for 'Well, he stepped up and calmly placed it into the corner of the net. 2-0! Thank You! Hopefully, Faddy will stay with us until the end of the season at least. We wouldn't want him to turn out like another Kenny Miller or Mark Burchill. He's a lot better than that, and if he stays at Fir Park for a while longer he will keep getting better. If 'Well don't get at least £2m for Faddy then it will be a complete joke.

Even the late goal by Hartson didn't manage to dampen the mood for the fans after watching a performance like that. Lets hope we can keep it up on Sunday. Roll on Hearts!

Cheers
