The Centenary Suite was packed for this popular annual event. Latecomers were posed with the problem of finding a set of chairs to match their team table.
Brown, Pettigrew and Wark prepare to draw the raffle
Quizmaster Keith Brown soon had the proceedings underway and, despite having to cope with the random behaviour of the wireless microphone, he managed the evening with his usual good humour and efficiency.
Questions ranged from TV to the Champions League and The Simpler Minds raced to the front early on. In addition to the eight rounds of teasers the thirty nine teams were presented with a picture flyer, a choice of wordsearches and a half time raffle for the shirt of Alex Burns (there was some debate about this being reclassified as the booby prize).
The evening came to a close after
Over five hundred pounds went into the Trust coffers as a result of the event. A delighted treasurer, Alistair Stewart said, “That’s brilliant. The evening was not run mainly as a fundraiser but as a social evening and everyone has enjoyed the night”.
Martin Rose gave a vote of thanks to all who contributed and made particular mention of Keith’s efforts.
