Supporters’ Trust
Martin distributed copies of the Model Rules on which the Trust is to be based and reported on his discussions with Dave Boyle, an officer of Supporters Direct.
The areas which require amendment were discussed briefly and it was decided that a further meeting be held next week in order that the changes be agreed before the proposals are sent to Supporters Direct for comment.
It is hoped that a public meeting will be called in the week beginning June 10 at which the proposals and the Model Rules will be published. Thereafter approval will be sought from the Registrar. The plan is that the Trust will be established by the start of the new season.
One of the items to be agreed is the choice of a ‘familiar name’ for the Trust (the official name will probably be ‘Motherwell Supporters’ Society Limited’. Suggestions are encouraged.
Supporters Direct will assist in the funding of the establishment of the Trust. Up to £1000 is available for costs related to registration, printing and so on.
