The Twittersphere lit up about an hour after the game finished when some of the players let it be known that their homeward journey came to a stuttering halt.
First off the mark was Darren Randolph (@Randz587) with “Coach just drove into a bridge!! Hahahahah pic coming soon!!!”. That was quickly followed by Henrick Ojamaa (@HenrikOjamaa) with “Bus driver performing as well as me today” and a link to the picture below.
Randolph followed up with his shot of the scene and then came news that Motherwell’s Media Man Alan Burrows had come to the rescue “Flo to the rescue in the minibus!”.
Tom Hateley (@TomHateley6) chipped in with “Yeah we didn't fit under that bridge” and another picture. The BBC later reported that the police had confirmed a bus had been lodged under a bridge at New Street and said damage to the vehicle was "minimal".
Thankfully there were no reported injuries.
