'Well Sign Three

Gordon Marshall was freed as part of Kilmarnock’s cost cutting exercise and he has now agreed a one year deal with us. Marshall is an experienced ‘keeper who has been around for many years, playing for Falkirk and Celtic before going to Rugby Park.

Burns and Craigan return to Fir Park
Alex Burns and Stephen Craigan have both been enticed from Partick Thistle, who are still complaining to the authorities about us being able to sign players. They have each signed two year deals and while some ‘Well fans will not view them as exciting catches, they both had good seasons last year.

If anyone is unsure about the quality of the signings, they should only look at who arrived this time last year – Partridge, Jack, Sengewald and Kemas. The fact we are bringing in established SPL players can only be viewed as a good sign that progress is being made off the pitch.

Steven Craig has signed the one year deal he was offered a few weeks ago and David Clarkson has been given an extended deal to 2006. Given his performances at the end of this season, this can only be viewed as a good bit of business.

So, it’s turned into quite a good day…bring on season 2003/4!
