Season ticket holders thought they would have to rely on the luck of the draw to see if they could secure a ticket for Motherwell's first round Uefa cup match in Nancy but with three o'clock ballot drawing close the club announced that a further 1,000 tickets had been secured.
There was some frustration among supporters as it seemed that they would be unable to check that their names were included in the draw. The club had failed to publish the list of participants ahead of time and fans, many already booked to travel, lambasted the club's back room staff on the internet messageboards.
Happily, it seems that some behind the scenes negotiations bore fruit and all applications can now be satisfied. Tickets (5€ and 10€) can be collected next week.
The club has also announced that ticket prices for the CIS third round tie with Hamilton Accies will be £15 (£10 concessions) for all stands. This game will be the only cup game of the season for which season tickets will be valid.
