Terry Butcher has been suggesting that there is every prospect of Pearo and pals Hammell and McFadden appearing at Fir Park next season as no bids have been tabled for any of the trio. Still, the transfer window has just opened and several weeks of uncertainty lie ahead before next term’s squad is finalised.
Meanwhile Faddy has instructions to put his feet up to allow the stress fractures in his foot to mend. Berti Vogts is quoted saying, "I'm very disappointed about losing McFadden. He would have started against Germany but there wasn't any chance because of his foot and he needed a week's rest.”.
Away from the football side of the game there is plenty of political action. Both Thistle and Falkirk continue to whine and moan.
The SFA have announced that a tribunal of three will hear Falkirk’s appeal against the SPL’s decision (if they can establish that they have jurisdiction to judge the matter). The panel will comprise Lord McLean (High Court judge), John McBeth (President of the SFA) and George Peat (Vice –President).
Thistle persist in their campaign to have us demoted, shackled, humiliated, dragged though the courts and presumably liquidated because we had the temerity to sign a couple of player who were formerly on the Thistle staff. It seems that the laws of the land are not good enough for the Firhill luvvies and they want the courts to intervene and force Motherwell into full administration. They accuse the club of “cheating on others” by avoiding football debts.
It looks like there will be plenty of talking points as we enter the summer break.
