Tickets were only available to those season ticket holders who had entered their names for last week's ballot. The news that
Well worth the wait!
The club had expected that the distribution would have been able to take place from Monday and the delay of a few days has caused many to make alternative arrangements.
Uefa regulations meant that passport details had to be logged against each ticket and this meant that progress along the queue was very slow. For much of the afternoon only the two service points in the Chapman Building were open but as the queue lengthened a further point appeared an the enquiry desk.
At around four o'clock those at the end of the queue were advised that they should consider returning the next day but it was stated that the office would remain open until seven. In fact a steward appeared around half an hour later to close the line and advise that the office was to close at five pm.
Fans continued to arrive in the expectation that they could collect tickets until 6pm as advised on the club website. They were not at all happy at being turned away.
Those who managed to get to the front of the queue paid £5 for their 5€ ticket. There are 1400 available at that price and a further 600 at 10€. Tickets will be available to those who have their names on the list for the next few days (including at the Dougie Arnott game).
A general sale of tickets will take place from Monday morning - subject to availability.
