The game has been switched from the Excelsior to the pristine grass surface at Fir Park for this first round tie in the South Section of the revamped contest.  The prize was formerly the Challenge Cup and open to clubs below the top flight but now it has been reconstituted with the addition of Premiership U20 sides, Highland and Lowland leagues with a pair from the Welsh Premier League and Northern Ireland Football League also thrown into the mix.

We won the cup!

The SPFL website offers the following explanation of what happens next..

The 14 winners from the First Round will be joined by East Fife, Elgin City and the clubs from last season's Ladbrokes League 1 (minus Dunfermline Athletic and Ayr United) for the Second Round stage.

The Ladbrokes Championship clubs join the competition in the Third Round along with Dunfermline and Ayr.

The representatives from the Northern Ireland Football League (Crusaders and Linfield) and the Welsh Premier League (Bala Town and The New Saints) enter the competition in the Fourth Round.

Entry to Fir Park is £5/£2 and the boys will value the support of all who can get along to cheer them into the next round.  Extra time and penalties will be available if needed to determine a winner.
