Two plans for the final games

Motherwell's fixtures remain as published up to the home game against Aberdeen on Saturday 10 May. Following that we have two games to play, the rearranged home fixture with Rangers and the final away visit to Hibs.

If Rangers are involved in the final then we play them at
Fir Park on Saturday 17 May (1230) then Hibs at Easter Road on Thursday 22May (1945). If Fiorentina succeed then we play Rangers on Thursday 15 May and play Hibs on Sunday 18May (1330).

The arrangement gives the possibility of a four day extension to the season and though it will cause inconvenience for some, seems to be a reasonable solution.

There were nineteen postponements this season and many of them involved Motherwell. Four matches were called off following Phil's death and six games fell due to the waterlogged Fir Park pitch (3 Motherwell and 3 Gretna fixtures).

The inevitable bleeting from both halves of the Old Firm suggests that the SPL got it right on this occasion. Motherwell have made no comment so far, best to do our talking on the pitch.
