It is a position that seemed unlikely a few weeks ago. On Valentine’s Day Motherwell were in the much feared play-off position with only Dundee United keeping us off the bottom of the table.
A wonderful series of results that produced six wins from seven outings transformed gloom to hope and now we are in fourth place. A point from the last game before the split would confirm a top half success and even offer the outside chance of a European slot.

That combination will get around 15/1 at most bookies and there are a few ‘Well fans who are certain to invest a pound or two to soften the blow if we fail.
