Time to be strong at Fir Park

A report in the Record suggests that "Rangers last night failed in a £1million swoop for Motherwell defender Mark Reynolds". Fir Park regulars have had the pleasure of watching Mark develop into an accomplished centre defender over the last couple of seasons and there is every reason to hope that he will become a fixture in the national team in years to come. We have him under contract until 2010 and he will still be a valuable asset twelve months from now.

John Boyle has managed to secure the services of Mark McGhee to lead us into our European year and now it seems that a big money bid has been rejected. All of the current squad are available, with the possible exception of Ross McCormack.

The signs suggest that we are, in the short term at least, going to reject the notion that we are 'a selling club' and reverse the trend in order to maximise the opportunities which season 2007/8 delivered.

West Brom
have let it be known that Luke Daniels could be available for another season and if we could secure his services another part of McGhee's jigsaw could fall into place.

It is a good time to be a Well fan and we can only hope that the club stands firm in the face of big money offers which will appear before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

Season tickets will be on sale from next week and the best way to show our thanks for last term's wonderful entertainment and our commitment for next season's challenge is to give the club record sales in the run up to the first kick off in August.
