This pre-season has been problematic not only in terms of results but injuries as well. Brian Kerr is out for several weeks whilst neither Paul Quinn nor David Partridge have been able to take especially active roles.
It does not seem entirely unfair to say that not one area of the team looks ready for the start of the season. The defence has been without a couple of players and the prospect of Corrigan being forced into midfield is worrying. The midfield is looking lopsided with no one comfortable on the right hand side and if we have to start a central pairing of Leitch and O’Donnell, god help us. The forwards are working hard but there is no clear partnership forming – and last years goal hero David Clarkson is looking distinctly out of sorts.
So, whatever side Terry decides to field at Stair Park, there are plenty of improvements to look for. This will prove a good day out for the ‘Well fans who make the trip with memories of our 4-0 cup win there a few years ago still fresh.
