The sad list contains four goals from corner kicks, three from free kicks and three from the penalty spot. Despite this failing we finished the first cycle of games in the top half of the table. However, it is clear that a cure has to be found if we are to reap the benefit of our new found entertaining outfield play.
More training needed!
Mark McGhee has let it be known that he prefers a good big-un to a good little-un and we can expect the January transfer window to result in the arrival of one or two tall chaps. In the meantime there's no truth in the rumour that growth hormone is supplementing the half time orange!
Of the first team regulars only Craigan, Quinn and Porter manage to clear the six foot barrier but not by much. Just think of the problems we have when faced by the Wilkie/Dods partnership or Jones/Hogg and the advantage of height becomes apparent. In the short term we can be sure that training ground sessions will focus on building a barrier against set pieces. Any improvement will be welcome.
