Terry suggested a few days ago that this would be a chance to give some of the fringe players a run out but it is likely that a few of the players who helped us reach the CIS cup final will also be on show.
St Johnstone are currently fourth in the First Division (a point ahead of Airdrie) and though this is a friendly they will be looking for the confidence boost which could come if the deliver a decent performance against a side from the higher division.
The weather forecast for the weekend suggests that plenty of winter woolies may be appropriate but at least the day out should provide a fix for those who go quietly mad when faced with a football-free weekend.
