McFadden had the honour of the kick off and he was supported by team mates Pearson and Hammell in close attendance in the left midfield. There was a sizeable 'Well support in attendance to cheer on the local heroes.

The foodlights at the Sainsbury's end of the ground remained unlit until ten minutes before the break and the anti-Israel protesters kept up a barrage of noise throughout.
We started brightly and our striker soon made an important contribution to the opening goal. McFadden took a ball on the chest some twenty yards out and with a fine turn, unleashed a fierce shot on target. The keeper conceded a corner and Maloney headed home.
Ten minutes later the visitors equalised when Barba finished well from the edge of the box.
As the light faded the game took on an unnatural look as the play moved from the brightly lit end to the gloom surrounding the visiting keeper.
Hammell, playing on the left of a five man midfield, was positioned a bit further forward than his normal 'Well role but he chased back when needed and had a few telling runs up the wing and had a solid performance.
Pearo worked hard but rarely had the opportunity for his trademark charge from midfield. Much of the creative work in the Scotland team came from Manchester United's Stewart whose presence overshadowed the efforts of the Motherwell man. He was subbed with around ten minutes of the match remaining.
Faddy was booked in thirty minutes for an (all too familiar) petty, niggle after the ball had gone and showed little in the second half. He seemed to lose concentration and was replaced by Lynch twenty minutes after the break.
We scored the deserved winner with ten minutes left on the clock when Celitc's Kennedy scored with a header from a right wing corner.
On to Love Street on Friday for Bonhof's young hopefuls.
