Ross County - 24h on

It was a win that ended a four game losing run and gives some relief to the struggling squad ahead of next week's visit to Celtic Park.  Our history at that venue is shocking and, in that light, the win in Dingwall takes on extra importance.

Craig Reid's name was pooled from the hat for his shot at left back.  He coped well enough but there's no doubt that the sooner we see Hammell back on the pitch the better.  On the other flank Ramsden lasted 90 minutes and he'll soon be back up to speed.  McManus and O'Brien coped well enough with the County big boys and there's the beginning of a central defensive partnership.

Sutton's eye view of the second half start

The starts of the show were the two goal scorers.  Vigurs' execution of the free kick was superb and Sutton's long range dipper was fit to win any match.  Jim McIntyre acknowledged the pair in his after post match comments. "Motherwell came out better in the second half and scored. It was a poor free-kick to give away but you have to give credit to the boy for sticking it away. You have to give big Sutton great credit for his goal too, it was a hell of a strike."

Sutton was clear that the team has plenty of room for improvement. "We haven't played well this season. There were patches when we did okay but we are still not where we want to be.  It's a important three points but I don't think anyone is satisfied about how things are going."

The team can prepare for the Celtic game free of the losing streak monkey on their backs and concentrate of recovering some of the rhythm that characterised their play last season.  It hardly has to be stated that any point secured from Parkhead will be prized but they can travel with a 'have a go' attitude.
