Although there were a few shaky minutes at the end of Saturday's match, few would argue that we did not deserve the win.  One of the few is Derek Adams who reckoned "I thought we played well in the first half, had the best chance of the half and probably just shaded it".  Further, his conclusion was that they probably deserved a point over the 90 minutes.

It will come as no surprise to hear that Stuart McCall had a different view.  He felt the game should have been won by the half time break.  "You always think it could come back and bite you when you don't take your chances and it would have been a travesty if we hadn't taken all three so we are delighted with the win".

The upshot is that we remain tied on points with Aberdeen and enjoy a seven point lead over the rest.  As Hibs (7th) and Kilmarnock (8th) cannot overtake St Johnstone (6th) the teams that will form the top and bottom are now set.  The SPFL scheduler can now plan the final five fixtures.  To arrive at a balance we should be away to Aberdeen and see Celtic, St Johnstone, Dundee United and Inverness at Fir Park.  That’s unlikely!

The last in our mini-series of home games will bring Kilmarnock on Saturday.  The threat of a playoff will ensure that we face a stiff test in our quest for three in a row but with our squad steadily returning to full strength there’s every reason to be optimistic about another home win.
