We took the lead and went on to created several good chances in an excellent first half display. But there was always the suspicion that one goal would not be enough and so it proved.

It was obvious that we were running out of gas as the game entered the closing stages but as the fourth official indicated only three additional minutes most of the 49,000 present must have assumed that the game would finish a point apiece.

A home fixture against Dundee will take us to the international break and the hope that Hammell, McHugh and Moult can bring us back to full strength. Saturday, despite the loss, showed that there is enough talent in the team to deliver more ups than downs as the season develops.
