Preview: Falkirk (a)

We travel to the Falkirk stadium with a perfect away record - three games, three wins - whereas The Bairns have gained only one point at home from their three matches.

Motherwell have to be considered the 'form team' in this encounter and it appears that games can't come fast enough at the moment. The players seem to be thriving, enjoying their football and growing in confidence with every passing week. There will be one enforced change due to O'Donnell's troublesome groin strain but we have keen competition to fill his place. Marc Fitzpatrick or Keith Lasley would relish the chance of a starting spot and both have enough first team hours behind them to fit into the system with ease.

Falkirk have had little success since their opening day demolition of Gretna at Fir Park. Their first home point was earned at some cost when they were awarded two red cards last week when they hosted Hibs. Although the referee may have contributed to the high crime count at this game the fact is that our opponents will be stretched due to the absence of Barr and Cregg. The news that Jack Ross might be struggling will add to their woes - though we'll await the team lines on Saturday for confirmation of his injury.

On paper it looks like we should be favourites and so the odds of 8/5 at Gamebookers seem fairly tempting. We know only too well that Motherwell have, in the past, had a record of blowing up big time when expectations exceeded our ability to deliver. But this has yet to happen under the new regime and with any luck we will return home with another three points in the bag: 2-0 to the Mighty 'Well.

Do you remember six goals the last time we visited Falkirk?
