Preview: Dundee United v Hibs

At the minute we are currently two points ahead of both United and Hibs and we have the added bonus of one more game still to come. Our next game will be against Dundee United at Fir Park but how we feel going into that match will largely depend on the outcome at Tannadice.

We might not be playing but we'll keep an eye on Tannadice this Sunday.
Should United win then we will be behind them when they visit us. Of course we will want the win but we will know a defeat would be absolutely disastrous. The strong point of a United win against Hibs is that it might put the Easter Road side out of contention before our trip there on the last day.

A Hibs win would put us in the position of being able to deal United a fatal blow. They surely couldn't recover from losing to both of their competitors in consecutive weeks and they would be trailing in fifth with both of the Old Firm to play in their three remaining games. The disadvantage is this scenario helps set us up for a do or die at Easter Road and that is likely to end in tears given our Edinburgh record.

Of course a draw between the sides would probably be the favoured option although it does keep both in the race. Crucially it would mean a loss to United wouldn't end our hopes completely and a win would put us in a brilliant position, especially if Hibs slip up in their game when we played United.

There are positives and negatives to be taken from every outcome on Sunday so we might as well look on the bright side regardless of what happens.
