Quite frankly there is nothing to suggest anything other than the points returning north with the Dons. We are struggling for confidence, are missing several players and the result means next to nothing. On the other hand they are playing well, will have nearly a full team to choose from and the result will take them closer to Europe.
Last time at Fir Park
As unhappy as it is to say, this game is just preparation for next season for us. Quinn will be suspended, Craigan, Kerr and Murphy are doubtful while Lasley, O'Donnell and McLean are, of course, still out. Corrigan is also likely to be missing after being injured at Tannadice. Potentially that is six first choice picks sitting in the stand and there is no doubt we will struggle without them.
Graeme Smith will presumably be forgiven for his little indiscretion in goal on Saturday but the four in front of him is anyone's guess. Ideally Craigan will be back to partner Reynolds and Paterson might play at left back.
Presumably Connolly - or even Fitzpatrick!? - will play on the right. In midfield we will definitely struggle as whoever we play in the centre will be out classed and probably out fought by the trio of Severin, Nicholson and Smith. McBride and Vadocz will presumably keep their places unless Kerr has recovered. The usual suspects will all be contending for a place on the wings while McDonald and A.N. Other will play in attack.
The Dons could be without Darren Mackie and his absence will help us. We will find it easier to deal with the experience of Brewster than Mackie's headless chicken pace. However even though Aberdeen aren't a great football team, the table shows they are substantially better than us. They are strong in midfield while we are weak. They have a full team while we don't. Put simply, if we somehow pull out a win it'll be a big shock.
All we can ask for is that those who play keep their shape and give their all. Sadly that won't be much consolation in a 3-1 defeat.
Remember the last vist Aberdeen made to Fir Park? Report
