Preview: Celtic (h)

The match at Hibs was an interesting one to analyse. Certainly we could have played better but we could easily have snatched a draw and with our long term record in Edinburgh to consider a loss to an in-form side is definitely nothing for which we should be ashamed. But the point remains our glorious form of December 2007 is now simply a memory and though we may still be in contention unless we pick up the pace we stand no chance of making Europe next season.

Well done guys

Quinn is suspended again and that gives us a huge problem at right back. Malcolm stood in last time but wasn't brilliant even if he can be excused for making his return to action out of position. He might continue while Lappin would seem like the other alternative. In the midfield Lasley was dropped to accommodate McGarry who is healthy again although it is questionable if he will be able to play twice in quick succession.

The main issue we have is the strikers. Our recent scoring record has been nothing short of abysmal and the previous good form of Porter, Clarkson and McCormack cannot keep their places safe forever. It would take a brave decision to drop one or two of the trio for Smith or Murphy but perhaps it is what is needed just to freshen us up a little.

Celtic have worries as well as they dropped two crucial points at home to Dundee United in mid-week. They will be under a huge amount of pressure as another slip will almost certainly cost them the title. Hopefully we can take advantage of their nerves, and the Fir Park mud, to come out on top with a 2-1 win in a battling performance.
