The squad will have had a couple of weeks' training completed before we go on the road. The groundsman will be happy that all the games are away from home as the new Fir Park surface will benefit from the rest.
After a closed door affair against Ross County there will be four fixtures as detailed below.
Saturday 17 July against Stirling Albion at Forthbank, 3pm kick off
Wednesday 21 July against Stenhousmuir at Ochilview, 7.30pm kick off
Saturday 24 July against Cowdenbeath at Central Park, 2pm kick off
Tuesday 27 July against St Mirren at Love St, 7.30pm kick off
Saturday 31 July against Stranraer at Stair Park, 3pm kick off
'Well fans will be keen to have a first look at new signings Kerr and Foran and it is also possible that another face or two will be in place by then.
Of particular interest will be the game at Cowdenbeath. Many 'Well fans will not have had the opportunity of visiting Central Park (season 70/71 was the last time Motherwell played a league fixture there) and a few will be visiting in order to add to the collection of grounds visited.
The value of these games if questionable. Few risks are taken and the competition is normally tame but as the close season draws to a end the barren weeks without football will be enough to entice some fans to the matches.
