The game had just passed the five minute mark, time for Considine to be booked for a foul on Bowman, when the floodlights at the city end failed and the game was suspended.
The players returned to the dressing room for 15 minutes as the lights restarted but they failed after a further 2 minutes (time for McManus to be booked!) and the referee led the teams back to the shelter of the stand.
It seems that there had been problems with the electricity supply in the surrounding area and a generator was used to provide power to the stadium.
Fans were requested to hold on to their tickets for the rearranged date and Motherwell will hope to "do something for the travelling fans".
