Speaking in the Daily Record, Jackson makes it clear that we are nowhere near the end of the administrative road.
"I'm far more pessimistic now than I was six months ago”, he said. It seems that the consortium lead by Ian Adams has failed to come up with the cash after weeks of trying to put a bid together.
"You could say we have taken a step back to where we were back then, in terms of bringing in a new owner” said Jackson.
But he stressed that club was in no immediate danger – though he pointed out that relegation this season would “make things far more difficult”.
We can take heart that John Boyle continues to let it be known that he stands by the club and that the survival of the Mighty ‘Well is his major priority.
The chairman's celebrations at the touchline when we beat Celtic and his appearance at the East Fife game demonstrate that the welfare of the club matters to him.
Bryan Jackson concluded, "I realise the fans will be worried there is no buyer. If the club stays up and the club is traded at a profit then Motherwell could stay in administration for a few years. I'm quietly optimistic I'll find someone by the summer.”
Let’s keep our fingers crossed – in the meantime fans are reminded that membership forms for the Motherwell Supporters’ Trust are available in the Chapman Building and from the Club Shop.
