Allan Campbell got Motherwell's contribution to this international weekend underway with an appearance for the Scotland U21 team against Lithuania. The game finished goalless.
Campbell, the most experienced of the young Scots with 18 caps at this level, played a key part in midfield until his substitution in the 86th minute. Barry Maguire was an unused substitute and James Scott had to look on from the stand. They now travel to the Czech Republic for Monday's match.
When he celebrated Motherwell’s win over St Mirren on Saturday Declan Gallagher could hardly have imagined that he would be on the bench as Scotland took to the field in Moscow five days later. Unfortunately we lost 4-0. He’ll be hoping for a first cap when San Marino come to Hampden on Sunday.
In Rotterdam Trevor Carson and Liam Donnelly were given a close up view of the Netherlands but they were not called. In any event, they would have had the thrill of their team taking an unexpected lead – pity it didn’t last. Next up is a friendly in Prague.
Bevis Mugabe will have to wait until Sunday for some action when his Uganda side face Ethiopia.
