The squad has been undergoing regular training sessions at the wonderful facilities at Dalziel Park for the last couple of weeks and on Tuesday evening they played a bounce game against Airdrie. A couple of hundred fans turned up for that kick about but it is expected that a couple of thousand will attend at 3pm on Saturday.

Burns, Craigan and Marshall will be on show along with the usual suspects. James McFadden is to have another scan on his foot next week to determine if he can start his pre season training. He was a spectator at Tuesday’s closed door game and seemed in good spirits.
Our last meeting with Accies was a Scottish Cup tie in 1997 and they took us to a replay at Broadwood which saw the ‘Well win 2-0. A warm-up friendly was arranged a year ago but it had to be cancelled.
Terry Butcher looked forward to the game saying, “It’s a local derby and Accies have just been taken over and have a new management in place so it should be good for us as a test.”
