Ross County will visit Fir Park on Saturday for the second meeting with Motherwell this month. Ross MacLean’s extra time goal gave us the League Cup win in Dingwall, can we get a 90 minute victory in the Premiership?
The visitors have recorded a win and a loss in this early stage of the league campaign. An opening day three pointer at Dens Park was followed by a home loss to Aberdeen. Curran scored after 2 minutes but the Dons took the points.
Now that the outcome of our triple appeal is known Stephen Robinson is aware that he will be without Carson in goal. In Griffiths we have a very decent replacement as his penalty save in Perth revealed.
Dunne must be bemused at his introduction to Scottish football. We are still in August and he has been shown two red cards without placins so much as a bruise on an opponent. Thankfully the referee’s mistake against St Johnstone has been rectified and he will be available for Saturday’s game. His outstanding suspension will be served in the League Cup tie against Aberdeen.
Moult was given a partial rest last weekend but we can expect him to be in the starting eleven for this game. McHugh will serve his suspension and leave a gap in midfield.
The Betfred tie a fortnight ago gave the managers an insight to the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition. County equalised twice in that game but on the balance of possession and goal-scoring chances we deserved the win. A 2-1 home win should not be a surprise.
