Managerless Motherwell will travel to Rugby Park on Saturday to play managerless Kilmarnock. After a terrible February can we enter March with a win?
Steve Robinson is a week into his recall at Fir Park and with advice from McFadden and Craigan he will make our team selection. The deficiencies of last week's weakened defence proved to be the tipping point of Mark McGhee's reign but option for change are limited.
Stick together
McManus is a long term absentee and we await news of Hammell and Tait. If none is available then some creativity will be required. McHugh dropped back to steady the ship in the second half against Dundee and he may partner Heneghan. Lasley's omission caused a few raised eyebrows and we can expect the captain to return.
If we are able to offer a decent block to the Kilmarnock attack then the onus will be on Moult and McDonald to tip the balance our way. Pearson was not alone in delivering an under-par performance last week and the travelling support will expect to see him make a telling contribution.
Kilmarnock have enjoyed a bit of a revival of late with two wins, two draws and only one loss their last five outings. That's the sort of form that moves a team away from the danger zone.
With Coulibaly gone (for lots of money) the onus falls to Boyd, Sammon and McKenzie to keep the goal rate up and the have not disappointed. But Kilmarnock have yet to record back to back wins this season.
Will the loss of a manager spur the men in claret and amber to deliver a fighting and productive performance at Rugby Park? The team will have behind them a large Lanarkshire support but three points may be beyond us. A point each might be all we can expect after a 2-2 draw.
