Next up - Hearts

Hearts will provide the opposition at Fir Park on Saturday in the fourth round of Premiership fixtures. Both teams will be keen for a win ahead of the international break.

Following their unexpected exit from the League Cup group stage the Jambos sacked Ian Cathro and put Jon Daly in charge until a permanant apointment is made. Three weeks have passed and they have not yet found their man.

Last season's wall v Hearts

In the interim Hearts have started the league campaign with a loss to Celtic, a win against Kilmarnock and a draw with Rangers to leave them one point above us. With the redevelopment of Tynecastle's main stand still ongoing the team are on the road, indeed, this fixture was switched from Edinburgh to accommodate the construction.

Notable arrivals at Gorgie over the summer were Lafferty and Berra. Both have become fixtures in the starting eleven and no doubt they will figure in Stephen Robinson's thoughts as he prepares his strategy.

Our manager will hope to have Frear and Hammell available for selection. The pair have missed the last few games and their return from injury will allow a different option.

Bowman and Moult combined to seal last week's win over Ross County but the pair may have to be split if Frear returns to the wing. Carson has served his one match suspension but Griffiths will argue that his clean sheet is a persuasive factor in his favour.

Last season's meetings ended with three convincing wins for Hearts with only one goal to show for our efforts.  But past history will mean little to the host of new players in both sides.

If the manager can ensure that the players deliver a performance on a par with the second half last weekend we should enjoy a happy international break. Anything short of that will hand the advantage to the visitors. No doubt the outcome will be somewhere between and a 1-1 will save face.
