Dunfermline have not lost a league game so far in this campaign although they did crash out of the League Cup in humbling circumstances with a Tuesday defeat from East Fife. With the aberration of a 3-3 draw against Inverness excepted, their league matches have all been tight – a goalless draw and two 1-0s in their favour.
A repeat would seem likely now given our own miserly defence but there is the potential for goals on either side. Kirk, Cardle, Graham and even Hardie are all capable of making things happen while we know our own strengths and weaknesses all too well.
Is Sammy still at EEP?
Stuart McCall has been loath to make substitutions in the SPL but made wholesale changes on Wednesday evening. It is doubtful if any of the players brought in would have done enough to earn a starting berth on Saturday but some may have earned the right to be considered as viable alternatives. Certainly with Humphrey not at the top of his game and Higdon, though contributing to the general play, struggling to score we need to develop more attacking options.
Our record at East End Park is somewhat average and we have not travelled to this part of Fife for quite some time. A fresh start in Dunfermline now awaits us and there is no reason to think we cannot claim another positive result. Another 1-0 win, at our best, may not be beyond us.
Remember the last time we played in Dunfermline?
