Busy December continues as Motherwell make the short trip to the east end of Glasgow with Celtic the opposition on Wednesday. It has been three years since we last won at Parkhead. Can we cause a shock?
Those 'Well fans present in December 2015 will remember with fondness the Louis Moult double that had us celebrating in the cramped away section. Liam Grimshaw is the only current player who took part in that game. Let's hope he can celebrate similar success with his present day team-mates.
Louis enjoys the win
Unfortunately the odds are heavily against an away win (16/1). Our hosts will be attempting to avoid a third consecutive defeat following losses to Salzburg and Hibs. Have we got them at a good time?
Celtic were missing a few regulars when they were beaten at Easter Road on Sunday but those of a claret and amber persuasion will have little regard for any adjustments forced on Brendan Rogers. He has a huge squad well able to cope with the loss of a handful.
Our manager must have half an eye on Saturday's meeting with St Mirren. That game will likely have more of an influence on our season than the one against Celtic. Will he rest a few of the familiar faces or will he favour the eleven that delivered the first win in Perth in six years?
The fresh faces in the team, Gillespie, Mbulu and the returning Dunne can be happy with their contributions but if Hartley is fully fit his experience will be valued ahead of the young centre back.
This game is a shot to nothing, but whether we have a go or take the cautious line the likelihood is for a home win, 2-0.
