Next up - Aberdeen

Aberdeen complete a run of three at home for Motherwell on Tuesday.  The fixture, rearranged due to the snowy deluge at the end of February, will give the teams a dry run ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final in a fortnight.

The managers will dismiss talk of the upcoming meeting at Hampden but we can be sure that the back room analysts will be using this opportunity to build the opposition dossiers.

A top half finish for Motherwell is such a distant prospect that it might reduce any burden of expectation on the team.  Yet, with respectable returns from the recent Celtic and Rangers meetings already banked, the players will be keen not to let their standards drop.

Stephen Robinson may decide to run with the same eleven that did so well against the Glasgow pair though Bigirimana and Grimshaw may feel they are overdue for a starting place.  Cifcti took no part at the weekend having sustained an ankle injury in training.

Thanks to our draw on Saturday and Aberdeen’s win over St Johnstone, the visitors need just a point to reach second place in the table.  With Mackay-Steven, Stewart, May and Christie receiving praise for their work against the Perth side our defence will have to be on the top of their game.

Motherwell have earned two wins and a loss against Aberdeen this season and have every reason to expect that they will not come away empty handed.  A third consecutive draw might be the outcome, 1-1.
